Past TAC Programs

Well attended "Pajama Story Times" - lots of fun for all!

Four Pajama Story Times with approximately 50 children and 25 adults attending have been held, the most recent on November 16, in the Reading Room adjacent to the Library.  Some TAC members are readers, some act as greeters, 'stretchers,' coloring assistants, and crowd controllers and fun is had by all.  On November 16, the guest readers were Kindergarten teachers at JMS, Miss Gleason, and former TAC adviser Bob Asman.  Thanks go to TAC advisors Tracy Keilty and Zoe Greenwood.

Successful Game Day III

Teen Advisory Council members held their 3rd Game Day on January 17.   The event was very successful and approximately 22 teens attended.  A variety of games were enjoyed, including air hockey and foosball, provided by Denise Weik;  ping pong, video games, and a a large selection of board games.  Snacks were provided by TAC members.  A pizza supper capped the evening.  Photographs of the event were featured in the January 27 'Country Life" section of the Republican American.

Movie on the Green, an unequivocl success!

Over 100 teens and townspeople enjoyed the movie, "The Blind Side" a film about a homeless teenager who becomes an All-American football player through the support of his adoptive family and coaches.

TAC members and their guests enjoyed a cookout at 7:30 PM in Memorial Park with the movie beginning at about 8:30 PM.    In addition to TAC Advisers Bob Asman and Lorraine Kerr Faison, thanks go to Recreation Director, Brian Leonard for providing sound equipment and invaluable advice, TAC parent Jamie Fisher for overseeing the projection and sound equipment as well as providing a portable screen, and First Selectman, Karen Paradis for lending support throughout.  Also contributing to the event's success were the creative talents of Steven Woodruff and Rachael Shurberg, whose wonderful posters helped publicize the event.  Others critical to the evening's success were Justin Bovat, Hayley Gravel, Rachael D'Ostilio, Rachael Shurberg, Kelsey Sudol, and their respective moms, who organized a concession table to raise money for TAC Programs.

Game Day II:  Game Day was a huge success, with 23 teens attending.  Participants in grades 7 through 12 enjoyed ping pong, Wii sports electronic games, and a selection of board games in the Community Room.  Snacks and drinks were provided by TAC members and pizza, by the Library.

Bowling Event: Eleven teens (ten members and one guest) attended the bowling event at the Thomaston Lanes. With the lanes virtually to themselves and all-around bowling fun, participants agreed it was a very successful event. Pizza and soda were served.
